U.S. visitor & Bahamian arrested for drug possession - Man shot on Palm Tree Avenue

Nassau, Bahamas = Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2016, officers from Tourism Policing Unit took into custody a Bahamian male and an American male from Miami, after they were found in possession of a quantity of dangerous drugs on Saturday 22nd October 2016.

Reports are that shortly before 1:00pm, officers from the Tourism Policing Unit, acting on information took into custody a Bahamian male and an American male at Prince George Wharf, after they found a quantity of marijuana and cocaine in their possession.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECT IN SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police are searching for a male suspect responsible for a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday 22nd October 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 11:00pm, a man was walking on Palm Tree Avenue, when a male armed with a handgun approached and shot him before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.
