Woman arrested at LPIA with 4 lbs of cocaine - Four arrested for drug possession during operation

WOMAN ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION AT LPIA

Nassau, Bahamas - An adult woman of Nassau Village is in custody after she was arrested at the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) for possession of dangerous drugs on Wednesday 15th February 2017.

According to reports, shortly after 1:00pm the woman was travelling to the United States when US Customs and Border Patrol officials detained her at the US Pre-Clearance Departure Lounge, after just over four pounds of cocaine was discovered in her luggage. The woman was handed over to the police and taken into custody.

 The woman is expected to appear in court tomorrow to be formally charged.

FOUR ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION DURING POLICE OPERATION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, a team of officers assigned to the South Central Division seized a quantity of dangerous drugs during an operation on East Street on Thursday 16th February 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 10:00am, South Central Division Officers were on an operation in the area when a building was searched and a quantity of marijuana was found.

Two adult males and two adult females were taken into custody in connection with the find.
