Woman arrested with firearm at LPIA - 13 arrests on Friday night - 2 housebreaking arrests in Eastern Division

WOMAN ARRESTED AT LPIA FOR FIREARM POSSESSION

Nassau, Bahamas - According to reports, around 5:00pm on Friday 14th August 2015, security officials at the Domestic Section at LPIA conducted a search of a handbag of a 25 – year old woman of Jubilee Gardens and found a 9 –millimeter handgun. The police were notified and the woman was arrested and taken into custody.

13 ARRESTED DURING FLYING SQUAD OPERATION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, a total of 13 persons wanted for questioning reference to various criminal offences were arrested in a coordinated island-wide operation conducted by officers from the Flying Squad on Friday 14th August 2015.

13 wanted persons were arrested for various offenses including murder, firearms, armed robbery and possession of dangerous drugs.

TWO MEN ARRESTED FOR HOUSEBREAKING BY EASTERN DIVISION OFFICERS

According to reports, on Friday 14th August 2015, a team of officers from the Eastern Division, acting on information executed a search warrant at a home located at Pyfrom Road for stolen goods. During the search the officers found an assortment of household appliances that were reported stolen during a recent break-in. Two males ages 32 and 20, are in custody in connection with this discovery. The two males are also being questioned in connection with several other housebreakings in Eastern New Providence.

Police wish to reassure members of the public that they will continue with their relentless efforts to hunt down persons who continue to commit crime and will spare no efforts to bring them to justice.
