POLICE INVESTIGATIONS ASSAULT ON JUVENILE FEMALE

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are investigating the circumstances surrounding the indecent assault of a juvenile female, Thursday, 24th May, 2018.

According to reports, shortly after 2:00pm, a juvenile female was walking on a dirt road in the area of Big Pond subdivision, when she was accosted by an unknown male who indecently assaulted her, before running away.

Investigations are ongoing into this matter.

Police are appealing to parents and guardians, to encourage their children to walk in groups when traversing isolate areas, or to refrain from walking in isolated area. 

SHOOTING VICTIMS DIE IN HOSPITAL

In the first incident, police are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the persons responsible for a shooting incident, which has left an adult male dead.

According to reports, shortly after 5:00am, Thursday, 24th May, 2018, two armed men forced entry into the home of a man at Lobster Avenue off Baillou Hill Road south, and shot him before fleeing on foot. Paramedics were called to the scene and transported the victim to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.

In the second incident, a man who was shot while at a bar on Market Street and Bahama Avenue died in hospital, Thursday, 24th May, 2018.

Police were called to Market Street and Bahama Avenue, after receiving reports of gunshots being heard. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male with gunshot injuries.

He was transported to hospital. 

Investigations are ongoing.

TRAFFIC VICTIM DIES IN HOSPITAL

Police in New Providence are investigating a traffic accident which occurred, Wednesday, 23rd May, 2018, and left an adult male dead.

Reports are that shortly before 10:00pm a male driving a motor cycle north on Kemp Road, when he collided into a 2002 Nissan Skyline car and a concrete wall respectively. Paramedics were called to the scene and transported the rider to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Traffic Division Officers are continuing investigation into this matter.
