The Bahamas Red Cross wishes to advise the general public of its 71st Annual Red Cross Fair scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2013 in the Lower Gardens of Government House.

This year, His Excellency, The Governor-General has once again has agreed to host the Fair.  The fair, which is a Bahamian tradition, has been marked as a signature event in celebration of the Bahamas’ 40th Anniversary of Independence.  In consideration of our partnership with the National Independence Committee, our theme this year is: “RED CROSS CELEBRATES WITH THE BAHAMAS…40 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE”.

In advance of the Fair, the Bahamas Red Cross would like to thank its many partners who, over the years, have committed their time, technical talent, staff and resources towards the successful execution of our Annual Fair.  This is a Bahamian staple, and we welcome the patronage of everyone as all proceeds aid the vulnerable populations in our country, especially those who are affected by natural disasters and poverty.

As usual, fair gates will open promptly at 12:00 Noon.  Patrons may access the fair grounds for a small admission donation of $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children.   The official Opening Ceremony will commence at 3:00 p.m., and patrons can look forward to a number of performances by local artists and the world renowned Royal Bahamas Police Force Band.

For more information, or if you would like to partner, volunteer or donate to the Bahamas Red Cross Fair, please contact the Director-General, Mrs. Caroline Turnquest at telephone number 323-7370 or by email at cturnquest@bahamasredcross.com.
