Nassau, Bahamas - The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, comprising more than 10 million members in more than 140 countries, celebrate World Thinking Day on February 22nd, annually. The Bahamas Girl Guides Association as a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) commemorates World Thinking Day annually with a service.

This year our Association will celebrate World Thinking Day under the theme “Team up to Build up” based on WAGGGS millennium development goal number eight - Develop a Global Partnership for Development on Sunday, 22nd February 2015, with a rally from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The BGGA plans to use this theme to partner with organizations and youth groups to highlight the global and local issue of violence against women and girls in particular, and violence in general, as we facilitate “Voices Against Violence”. It is important that solidarity is shown among young people who commit to practicing and promoting peace and respect. Our goal is to help our youth to understand what is needed to prevent the violence that we see. This will be accomplished by promoting respectful relationships and gender equality. The Association will stage this event in the form of a rally with guest speakers and musicians who will educate and stimulate our young men and women to be motivated to stand up and say no to the violence.

We are therefore inviting all youth organization to stand with us and raise their voices and say “stop the violence”. Join the Bahamas Girl Guides Association at The Kendal G.L. Isaacs Gymnasium, on Sunday, 22nd February 2015, from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. for our World Thinking Day Rally Service.
