Nassau, Bahamas - This is been a busy week at the Shelter!  We have adopted out many animals, taken in many more, including some baby chicks, and had a class tour come through.  The current construction boom on New Providence is unearthing litters of pups, many of whom end up with us.  The school group that came through today has fostered Cupid (photo attached) for a week in order to learn about taking care of a dog.

Due to the high number of puppies at the Shelter, we are running a Super Bowl Special for puppy adoptions.  From now until Super Bowl Sunday (February 5th), puppies will be adopted out at a reduced rate.  If you or anyone you know is looking to adopt, please come into the Shelter during adoption hours (Monday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) or call 323-5138.

The BHumane Banner Launch evening at Government House is now only a week and a day away, and tickets are selling well.  Please be sure to buy yours before we sell out!  The event will be held Saturday, February 4th at 7 p.m. and promises to be a fun-filled evening.  Tickets are $65.00.  Many thanks to Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch for sponsoring the BHumane Banner Campaign.

Raffle
ticket sales have begun.  Tickets this year are $20.00 for one or $100.00 for a book of six.  You can purchase your tickets at the Shelter, from BHS members and Board members.  We are still looking for volunteers for table sales in front of ScotiaBank Bay Street through February.

The Animal Fun Day is a mere month away!  Please come to the Botanical Gardens on Sunday, February 26th from noon to 6 p.m. for a fun-filled afternoon of events, games, and food.  Volunteers are also needed for this day.  Please contact me if you are able to volunteer for this event.  Thank you to those who have already done so!

Also on Sunday, February 26th is the Foley & Hepburn Evening of Song at Jacaranda House.  Tickets are $125.00 and include dinner and wine.  The evening begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.  Proceeds from this event will come to the BHS.  More info can be found here.

March 16th & 17th are the days of the BKC Dog Show.  This year's show will be held at the old Chalk's field on Paradise Island.  The BHS will be hosting a table.  Come and see us there!

The Disco Night at the Sheraton Cable Beach will be an evening filled with music from the 60s and 70s.  This will be held Saturday, March 31st and is the night of the raffle drawing.  Please be sure to join us there to see if you are a winner!
