Nassau, Bahamas - The team members of SakpaseBahamas are pleased to bring to you the first ever
Haitian Music and Arts Cultural Festival to be held on
November 21st, 2009 at the Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre.
The primary purposes of this event are to raise funds towards the further development of the Haitian Emergency Fund which is geared towards finding readily available funds in times of crisis such as natural disasters or mass burials of Haitians who have drowned while near our shores. For example, the cost of clothing, burial expenses, emergency medical supplies, food and water, disaster shelters and other associated materials are a significant expense to any group or body of individuals if not fully prepared.
Additionally, this event seeks to bring awareness to the trade possibilities that exist between the Bahamas and seeks to promote international cultural exchange. Seemingly, it will feature Haiti's history, arts and crafts, music, cuisine, people and culture. It was also designed to entertain and educate. The Festval will feature performances by High Definition Hustlers, Neg Kreyol Ki La, Neg Kat Blanche, Merlande Dorceus, Group Oboy, D.P, Jeune Ami de Jesus, Bakka and the featured band for the concert will be the most popular Haitian music band Carimi from Boston.
The festival will be held at the Carnival Site, Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre on November 21st, 2009 commencing at 12 noon until 2 am. Come out and experience the best that Haiti has to offer.
