Nassau, Bahamas - Junior Achievement Bahamas kicked off its new year in grand style. On Saturday September 6th 2014, JA advisors and volunteers greeted visitors of the Mall at Marathon with this year’s exciting plans and programme information with its launch day at the mall. Many parents and students were eager to learn more about the various programs offered by Junior Achievement such as JA Elementary, JA Juniors and JA Company Programme. Additionally, the clarion call was made for all JA Alumni to participate in Junior Achievement’s Alumni and Volunteer Drive.

Mr. Philip Simon, Director, shared the objectives for JA Bahamas 2014 -2015, “JA Bahamas remains committed to our nation’s most valuable resource through the teaching of economic and entrepreneurship training. This upcoming year we anticipate continued success in the programme offerings that cater to students from kindergarten through grade 12. We especially look forward to enhancing the link between current and past achievers through the formal establishment of an Alumni Association. We want to thank our sponsors and supporters who make the programmes possible and encourage others to join us in this endeavor. We can certainly shape a better future together!”

During the day, the new theme for 2014-2015 was featured; “My Future Begins with Me!” This theme highlights the core principles of Junior Achievement, which is empowerment to achieve one’s goals, aspirations and success through adequate training and mentorship. This theme was selected to inspire our achievers to start preparing for their future, taking ownership of their decisions and to encourage them to take advantage of all opportunities and resources available to them as a launching pad to their success.

This year’s official launch also featured a social media campaign that aims to involve current and former achievers to get connected and get involved. The #iAmJA Campaign features former achievers, shares the experiences of Junior Achievement and brings awareness of how rewarding the programs have been for over 35 years. All are encouraged to join in the campaign, stay connected with Junior Achievement via our social media pages.
