The fraternal lodge that hosted a casino night event for charity has now turned its proceeds over to two lucky beneficiaries.

Lodge St. Joseph #1838 S.C. this week donated $1,000 each to the Ranfurly Home for Children and the Royal Bahamas Police Force Dependents Fund. It was the second consecutive year the lodge raised funds for the children’s home and for families of slain police officers.

“The lodge is committed to building a stronger community by strengthening the ties that bind us all,” explained Lodge President Romi Ferreira. “Assisting the Ranfurly Home which provides a safe and healthy environment for young people who might not otherwise have a fair chance at a wholesome life and helping ease the burden of families left by officers who lost their lives in the line of duty are ways that we as a group can share our blessings.”

More than 70 guests attended the December fund-raiser at Old Fort Bay Club featuring faux games of chance.
