One of the activities on the Grand Bahama Regional Branch’s agenda
for the 2014-2015 period was to revamp the park benches at their Grand
Bahama parks. The Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve - which is also a
Bahamas National Trust (BNT) national park - lent a helping hand in this
endeavor by producing benches made of Casuarina wood, which is an
invasive species in The Bahamas. GB Park Wardens, David Clare and
Ellsworth Weir, installed the benches with the help of local
volunteers. Once the benches were installed, park guests couldn't wait
to use the benches to better take in the scenery at the parks. The BNT
GB branch invites everyone to visit the parks to see the new benches!
