Next Nassau free Canine Distemper Vaccinations set for August 26th & 27th

Nassau, Bahamas - The island of New Providence is currently facing a serious outbreak of Canine Distemper Virus, a dangerous and often fatal disease in pet dogs.

To assist those less fortunate and their pets, the Bahamas Humane Society is provided free distemper vaccines. The clinics are free of charge and are aimed at establishing a “ring of immunity” within New Providence to protect our pets.

The next clinic will be: on Tuesday, August 26, at Our Lady’s Catholic Church on Deveaux Street off East Street, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (Please note change in hours.)  AND  on Wednesday, August 27, in the BHS parking lot in Chippingham, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.  A mobile clinic will also be traveling the streets on this day.

People who brought their dogs to Carmichael Primary on August 6 or to Our Lady’s on August 12 are asked to please return to one of these clinics for the second booster.

This free vaccine clinic will be held from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. The clinic is free of charge and is aimed at establishing a “ring of immunity” within New Providence to protect our pets.

These vaccines have been generously provided by Humane Society International.  Thank you also to all the people and organizations who helped spread the word about the previous one. 

Please bring your pets to get this important vaccine.
