The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) recently raised funds to assist the Sister Sister Breast Cancer Support Group - a non-profit charitable group for women diagnosed with breast cancer.

A cheque of just over $700 was presented to group president, Andrea Sweeting.  For the past five years, the group has received a helping hand from BTVI, in its fight against breast cancer.

The funds were amassed during BTVI’s Pink Awareness Bake Sale held, where students, staff and faculty teamed up to have fun and treats, but more importantly to bring awareness to the prevalence of breast cancer, early detection and the battle against the deadly disease.

BTVI’s president, Dr. Robert W. Robertson, recently made the cheque presentation along with Dean of Student Services, Racquel Bethel and a group of students. Ms. Bethel expressed continued support on BTVI’s behalf.

Shown in the centre of the front row are Dr. Robertson, Ms. Sweeting and Ms. Bethel.
