Support the School for the Blind and enjoy 'Praise on the Seas' - October 10th

Nassau, The Bahamas - The Salvation Army’s Erin H. Gilmour School for the Blind is excited to invite the community to an uplifting event of a Gospel Concert - “ Praise On The Seas”, Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 7:30pm until 10:30pm. on the boat M/V Legacy.  All proceeds are in aid of the school for the Blind.

Local artists to perform include:  Barrack Ministries, Christian Massive, Mr. Denzel Rolle and the Church of GOD Mass Choir, Mighty Beacon, Mr. Leon Wilson, Mr.  Everette Sands, Jr. and the Director of Immigration-Mr. Jack Thompson will be the Master of Ceremonies.

A variety of delicious dinner and refreshment items will be on sale.  Menu for the evening:  fish, chicken, peas & rice, conch fritters, macaroni, tossed salad, conch salad, corn on the cob, cheese cake, pound cake, fruit punch, vita malt, and juices.

Boat departs sharp at 7:30pm. on the west end of Potter’s Cay Dock.

Tickets are available at all The Salvation Army Churches, The Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters-#31 Mackey Street and The Erin H. Gilmour School for the Blind.
       
Erin Gilmour School is a comprehensive educational facility for blind and visually impaired children. Appropriately trained teachers cater to primary and secondary students who are unable to attend the regular school system.  In this specialized facility students are provided with quality educational programs using state-of-the-art equipment and assisting technology devices.  The school’s environment is one of care and value in which each child is aided in the development of his or her own potential and independence. The school follows the Ministry of Education curriculum, and some students integrate in selected courses at regular schools, as well as participate in all national exams.
