48th annual Heart Ball set for February 18th

Nassau, Bahamas - The Victor Sassoon Heart Ball Committee announce their 48th annual Heart Ball set for February 18th, 2012 at the Sheraton Nassau Resort. This year's theme is "Repairing a Broken Heart - What a Gift".

Cocktails begin at 7:15pm and dinner will be served at 8pm. The presentation of the Lady Sassoon Golden Heart award will be the evenings highlight, and entertainment will be provided by the RBDF Dance Band, the S G Band, and Ed Brice Orchestra.

Golf for Grand Bahama Youth Scholarships

Freeport, Bahamas - The Grand Bahama American Women's Club is on countdown to one of Grand Bahama Island's most FUN golf tournaments — the 9th Annual Golf Classic, to be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Reef Golf Course, and again the Grand Lucayan Hotel has donated the use of the course. All proceeds from the day's activities go to the GBAWC's youth scholarship fund and local charitable organizations.

GBAWC volunteers, assisted by Scholarship Students, are determined that the 9th Annual Golf Classic will be a FUN fundraiser. Upon signing-in all participants will be greeted by students and given a package of wonderful CLARINS skin products...

Bahamas Humane Society Weekly Update

Nassau, Bahamas - There was a fabulous turnout for Saturday's BHumane Banner Launch party at Government House. The food was excellent once again, and the Defence Force Band kept us entertained with lovely music. The in-house raffle that night brought in over $900. Congratulations to those who won prizes! The banners, our main reason for being there, were displayed and look amazing! Thank you to those who purchased banners. Please keep an eye out for them as they will be going up along the streets of New Providence within the next week. Thank you Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch for sponsoring this campaign.

GGYA busy in Crooked Island

Colonel Hill, Crooked Island - Youths enrolled in a internationally recognized programme are keeping busy on the remote Crooked Island.

A rare jewel in the Atlantic Ocean, Crooked Island is home to roughly 300 residents. Fifteen of them are set to receive their Bronze Award from the Governor General's Youth Award programme in a ceremony set for next month.

The GGYA is a member of the International Award Association for Young People, headquartered in the United Kingdom.
