Nassau, Bahamas - Summer is almost over and as thousands of parents prepare to send their kids back to school, many are faced with planning for care beyond the classroom. After the final school bell rings, what options are available to those seeking to have their children in fun, engaging and safe activities?

This Saturday, Solomon’s Super Center will help parents answer that question during aftercare trade shows at their locations in Nassau and Grand Bahama. For two hours, local vendors offering activities from tennis to soccer, musical instruction to modeling will showcase to shoppers just days before school opens for the Fall.

Monalisa Sweeting, Solomon’s Brand Manager and event organizer, said the trade shows are a way to help busy parents navigate that important gap of time in their family schedule. “It’s the first year we’ve extended invitations to local vendors on both islands to showcase aftercare services. We understand our customers work long hours and need options for reputable programs,” Sweeting explained. “With back to school preparation in full swing, we anticipate heavy foot traffic in our stores this weekend and we wanted to make this part of the process easier by providing options in one convenient location.”

Swimming and track coaches, karate instructors, Spanish and Math clubs organizers and representatives from local libraries will also be on hand to share information with parents. In addition to a pool of reputable vendors, Solomon’s customers can look forward to giveaways and free samples.

Shoppers are also encouraged to join AML Food Ltd, as the company teams up with the Zonta Club of Nassau for a uniform and supply drive to benefit the Bahamas AIDS Foundation’s aftercare program.

“We are pleased to partner with the Zonta Club of Nassau and applaud them for their commitment to working with the Bahamas AIDS Foundation to enhance the lives of children,” said Renea Bastian, Vice President of Marketing & Communications at AML. “Our goal is to help them reach their targets and we’re asking persons to donate toiletries, canned goods, school supplies and new or gentle used uniforms during Saturday’s event.”

The trade shows will take place at Solomon’s Super Center Nassau on the East West Highway and Solomon’s Freeport on Queen’s Highway from 12 p.m.- 2 p.m.
