100 days to the IAAF World Relays in Bahamas

Hon. Dr. Daniel Johnson MP. Minister of Youth Sports & Culture purchasing the first ticket for the upcoming IAAF World Relays Bahamas 2014.

Nassau, Bahamas–A leading insurance company, retail store and beverage company have been unveiled as the first three national partners for the inaugural International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) World Relays Bahamas 2014.

Today, thousands of Gold, Silver, Bronze level and general admission tickets went on sale to the general public for the World Relays which will be held on May 24th and May 25th. The announcements were made during a press conference to mark the 100-day countdown to the start of the IAAF World Relays Bahamas 2014.

Managing Director of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Mr. Lionel Haven, noted that the signing up of the first three (3) national partners: Atlantic Medical Insurance Company Ltd., Caribbean Bottling Company Ltd. and John Bull Group of Companies is a major milestone for the LOC.

"To date, more than 40 countries have shown interest in participating in the event. With over 1,000 athletes and coaches set to flock to The Bahamas for the relays and with the world's top athletes expected to be in action in front of 15,000 spectators each day at the Thomas A Robinson National Stadium, demand for tickets is expected to be high,” he said. “With tickets going on sale today, I can guarantee that whatever ticket you decide to go for the event will leave a deep and lasting impression on you. The athletes who will be involved in this event are the fastest in the world and I urge everyone to take this chance to be there and to be a part of history in the making.”

Mrs. Jennifer Basden, Caribbean Bottling Bahamas Ltd. exclusive bottler of Coca Cola products, Marketing Manager said, “Coca-Cola is proud to be a partner sponsor of the upcoming IAAF World Relays Bahamas 2014. LOC Senior Director of Marketing, Mrs. Kathy Ingraham-Maciel, said these first partnerships are a positive step towards delivering a successful event.
