GLASGOW, Scotland -
Bahamas' Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace gave it her all at the Commonwealth Games today with a 4th place finish in the women's 50m freestyle final.
After qualifying this morning in the women's 50m butterfly semi-final, Vanderpool-Wallace, finished with 24.34. Francesca Halsall of England (23.96) took gold, and Australia's Cate Campbell
(24.00) and Bronte Campbell (24.20) were next.
In the semi-final, she set a new National record and equaled an old Commonwealth Games Record.
On Day 1, Bahamas' Joanna Evans finished 19th in the 200 Free with a time of 2.04.19, this is a National record; and Vereance Burrows finished 15th in the 50 fly in 24.83, this qualified
him for the semi final. In the semi final his time
was 24.74 which did not qualify him for the final.
Dustin Tynes competed in the 200 breaststroke finishing 15th in a time of 2:22.90.
