Another ITF Pro Circuit Main Draw Appearance for Bahamian Philip Major

Philip Major
who is touring with Joshua Turnquest on the Tennis Pro Circuit in Europe since mid January has achieved much success.Philip Major and Joshua Turnquest who are superb athletes are kicking off another week in Antalya Turkey in the International Tennis Federation Turkey F5 Futures.

This morning Philip Major played the fifth seeded Hugo Voljacques from France. Philip who is unseeded in the tournament played extremely well and defeated Hugo 6-3,6-4. Philip once again advances to the Main Draw. In the first round Major faced some stiff competition butrose to the challenge beating Loic Juszczak of Belgium 7-5 6-4. In the second round of the Qualifying Major won convincingly over Colorado from the United States 7-5, 6-1.

The win today has qualified Major for his second appearance into an ITF Pro Circuit Main Draw in a two week span, a major accomplishment and feat in the Bahamian Tennis Arena! Last week Philip advanced to the Main Draw in the Turkey F4 Futures but came up short. However, he has another opportunity once again due to his focused playing to showcase his skills on the Pro Tennis Level.

Also in this tournament is young Bahamian Joshua Turnquest who is also playing extremely well. 17 year old Joshua pulled off an amazing three set win in the first round against Alperen Sanater of Turkey 3-6 6-3 6-4. In the second round he lost to Kishi of Japan 6-4 6-2. Joshua is continuing to hone his skills and display his talents and we expect to hear more good things from him as he continues to tour.

Tomorrow Main Draw Matchplay continues for Philip Major as he has secured his ticket into the Main Draw pool of 32 .He plays Seong Chan Hong from Korea in the fist Round.
