Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace takes gold at Pan Am Games

TORONTO - On Friday, July 17th, and just three days after taking bronze in the 100 m freestyle, Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace claimed gold in the women's 50 m freestyle at the Pan Am Games in Canada, making it her second medal in the games, and the second medal for The Bahamas.

Her gold medal swim was 24.38. She was followed by Brazil's Etiene Mederios for silver with a time of 24.55, and USA's Natalie Coughlin taking bronze with 24.66.

Earlier in the heats she set at a meet record of 24.31 in heat 4 of the 50 freestyle qualifiers beating her national record of 24.34.

Joanna Evans came seventh in the 400 m finals with 4.14.

Laura Morley finished seventh in the 100 m breaststroke B finals with 1.15.

Ariel Weech finished seventh in the 50 m freestyle B finals with 26.28.

Dustin Tynes finished second in the 100 m  breaststroke B finals of the men's with 1:02.49.
