Nassau, Bahamas - Executives of The Bahamas Olympic Committee and The Bahamas Cycling
Federation are appealing to the general public for information relating
to the accident of aspiring Olympic cyclist Justin Minnis in the early
hours of Saturday, 7th May, 2016. Minnis was training on his bicycle on
Tonique Williams Darling Highway shortly after
6.00 a.m.
in the vicinity west of the roundabout leading to the Queen Elizabeth
Sports Centre when he was the victim of a ‘hit and run’ accident. He
remains unconscious in critical condition at the Princess Margaret
Hospital.
Roy Colebrook, Vice President of the Olympic Committee and President of
the Cycling Federation said that the thoughts and prayers of the entire
sporting community are with young Mr. Minnis and his family and asked
anyone with information about the accident to contact the relevant
authorities.
