Atlantis, Paradise Island’s Annual Division I Men’s Early-season College Tournament Scores With ESPN and AXS TV

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Eight elite teams will compete in the 2014 Battle 4 Atlantis, one of the most exhilarating Division I Men’s early-season college basketball tournaments. Running November 26-28, 2014, Atlantis, Paradise Island’s fourth annual tournament features the University of North Carolina (UNC), UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles), Georgetown University, University of Florida, University of Wisconsin, Butler University, University of Oklahoma, and UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham).

Kicking off the 2014 Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament will be UNC vs. Butler University; the first round of games on Wednesday, November 26 is as follows:

Game 1: Butler University vs. University of North Carolina (live at 12:00 PM EST on ESPN2)

Game 2: University of California, Los Angeles vs. University of Oklahoma (live at 2:30 PM EST on ESPN2)

Game 3: University of Wisconsin vs. University of Alabama at Birmingham (live at 7:00 PM EST on AXS TV)

Game 4: University of Florida vs. Georgetown University (live at 9:30 PM EST on AXS TV)

Atlantis is pleased to welcome ESPN this year as part of a multiyear agreement for media rights, alongside three-year television partner AXS TV. All 2014 Battle 4 Atlantis games will be aired live on one of the ESPN networks or AXS TV from Atlantis’ Imperial Arena, the famed resort’s unique and impressive 3,900-seat arena.

Sports fans can follow the 12-game Tournament live, with airings on ESPN, ESPN2, and AXS TV. On Thursday, November 27, the second round of games will air as follows:

Game 5: Winner of Game 2 vs. Winner of Game 1 (live at 1:00 PM EST on ESPN)

Game 6: Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 4 (live at 3:30 PM EST on ESPN)

Game 7: Loser of Game 2 vs. Loser of Game 1 (live at 7:00 PM EST on AXS TV)

Game 8: Loser of Game 3 vs. Loser of Game 4 (live at 9:30 PM EST on AXS TV)

On Friday, November 28, each network will televise two of the tournament’s final games:

Game 9 (3rd Place): Loser of Game 6 vs. Loser of Game 5 (live at 2:00 PM EST on ESPN)

Championship Game: Winner of Game 6 vs. Winner of Game 5 (live at 4:30 PM EST on ESPN)

Game 11: Winner of Game 8 vs. Winner of Game 7 (live at 8:00 PM EST on AXS TV)

Game 12: Loser of Game 8 vs. Loser of Game 7 (live at 10:30 PM EST on AXS TV)

AXS TV is available nationally on AT&T U-verse (channel 1106), DIRECTV (channel 340), DISH (channel 167), Verizon FiOS (channel 569) as well as Charter, Comcast/Xfinity, Suddenlink and other cable, satellite and telco providers. Following a thrilling battle against the University of Iowa for the 2013 Battle 4 Atlantis championship title, Villanova University joined Duke University and Harvard University as victors of the top-notch tournament on November 30, 2013. This year’s Battle 4 Atlantis boasts not only the best field yet, but also a combined 205 NCAA Tournament appearances, 53 Final Four Appearances, and 20 National Championships.

The 2014 Battle 4 Atlantis officially begins on Friday, November 14, as teams traveling to Paradise Island first host a designated opponent on the mainland as part of a four-game schedule. The seven opening games will be televised nationally and are as follows:

Friday, November 14: University of Louisiana at Monroe (UL-Monroe) vs. UAB

Sunday, November 16: Coastal Carolina University vs. UCLA

Sunday, November 16: University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UT-Chattanooga) vs. Wisconsin

Tuesday, November 18: Robert Morris University (RMU) vs. UNC

Tuesday, November 18: UT-Chattanooga vs. Butler

Friday, November 21: UL-Monroe vs. Florida

Saturday, November 22: RMU vs. Georgetown
