Zurich, Switzerland - It was an eventful day of football related activities, as the Bahamas Beach Soccer National team visited the Fifa headquarters, located in Zurich, Switzerland.

The day started with a meeting with FIFA’s head of development for beach soccer and futsal, Brent Rahim. Rahim was pleased to meet with the team, as he will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

Next, the team received a tour of the 240 million dollar facility, conducted by FIFA’s African Development manager Solomon Mudege.

After a light lunch in the cafeteria, the team headed to the beach soccer pitch, which is located less than 100 yards from the office’s main building. The gents didn't shy away from the blistering heat,  that felt more like Bahamian weather than Swiss.

The squad enjoyed the company of FIFA’s social media team, as they received tactical instructions from coach Angelo Schirinzi. The collaboration resulted in some fantastic moments being captured on video, some of which can be found on FIFA’s official Facebook and twitter pages. (see links below)

A pitch-side visit from FIFA President Gianni Infantino was the cherry on top of a very sweet day. The lads posed for pictures with the Swiss world football chief, whose humour was complemented by the easy going nature of the Bahamian players.

It was a truly memorable day, topped off by a few members of the squad with a visit to St. Jakob Park. The local favourite FC Basel drew 3-3 with Bundesliga (German Premier League) side VfL Wolfsburg in an exciting grass football preseason friendly, that all enjoyed immensely.

The squad is eagerly preparing for a round of competitive friendlies in Italy. The matches are scheduled to run from Friday, July 22nd- Sunday July 24th.
