The  Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association(BLTA) ushers in for the 2016/2017 term its newly elected officers.  At its recent annual general meeting the following slate of officers and executives elected were  the  President, Mr. Elwood Donaldson, 1st Vice President Mr. Omar Smith 2nd Vice President Mr. Ceron Rolle, Treasurer Mr. Perry Newton Jr., Assistant Treasurer Mr. Tim Danes, General Secretary Ms. Darnette Weir and Assistant Secretary Mrs. Chilean Burrows.   Council Members selected were Mr. Lawrence Daxon, Mr. Brent Johnson, Ms. Autise Mortimer, Mr. Terran Rodgers and Mr. Ivan Shepherd.

With the 2016 motto "All Hands On Deck"  the Association encourages the involvement of all, Members, Corporate Bahamas and the Government as it seeks to elevate the sport of Tennis in The Bahamas.  The development and training of tennis athletes continue to be a main focus of The Association.  The BLTA also recognizes the need for senior tennis development as tennis is one of the few sports where the young and the young at heart can both play and enjoy.

As we see the international success of many of our recent national teams in the past three years and the outstanding play of many of our athletes in college and on the European circuit, The Bahamas is on the precipice of a great movement in tennis.  We are excited about the future!
