The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association’s Junior Nationals will be held June 26 - 29 at the newly refurbished National Tennis Centre, Q. E. Sports Centre. Young swingers will be competing in varying age groups from 8 and under to 18 and under. Top junior national players such as: the 2017 Fed Cup Team members Sydney Clarke, Elana Mackey and Sierra Donaldson will be displaying their skills. Also expected to participate at BLTA’s Junior Nationals are Commonwealth Youth Games tennis athletes Donte Armbrister and I. Gabriela Donaldson and recent USTA champion Afrika Smith. Approximately 64 budding tennis stars are poised to take on the challenge of defeating their opponent. Players have been training hard preparing themselves for this event which is the major junior national tournament on the Association’s calendar. Also participating in the Tournament are first-timers and up-and-coming players who have their eyes set on the prize in hopes of “pulling off an upset”.

Due to time constraints and in preparation for ITF Junkanoo Bowl Tournament and
Commonwealth Youth Games being hosted one week and three weeks away, respectively, no double matches will be played. This years' tournament is sponsored by Driver Rent-A-Car and Healing Hand Therapy. Match play will begin daily at 8:30 a.m. Tournament Director is Mr. Wesley Rolle.

The tennis community and the public at large are invited to come out, as players from New Providence, Freeport and Eleuthera are set to showcase a myriad of tennis skills from slice and volley to unexpected drop shots to smooth one-handed back-handers to down-the-line winners, as others’ target is to consistently hold their serve.

President is Mr. Elwood Donaldson.
