In the men's 4x400m relay, the Bahamas had their DQ overturned 20 minutes after the race, and claimed the bronze medal after the Cuban disqualification

TORONTO, Canada -  The final night of the Pan Am Games showcased the 4 x 400m relay races was an exciting show for The Bahamas as the men's team led in all their baton hand-offs and the race until the final stretch.

It was in that final stretch that we watched the sudden takeover from Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba, and the USA, putting the 'initial' final result with The Bahamas in a heart wrenching fourth place finish.

Word was that Cuba may be disqualified because of a late arrival and  for submitting a start list that was in a different order than the order they were to run in.

Brief minutes after the race we were also shocked to hear that The Bahamas was disqualified, and it was said based on a line violation.

But wait, because everything then changed after review of the tapes, and the final outcome confirmed Trinidad and Tobago in first place with their 2.59.60 season best, Cuba was confirmed disqualified putting USA in second with 3:00.21, and that moved The Bahamas up into third with 3:00.31.

If it all sounds crazy, you're right!  The Pan Am Games issued this story shortly after: Weirdest Pan Am story of the day: Relay disqualifications
