Nassau, Bahamas - A few weeks
ago, the Bahamas Squash Association (BSA) with assistance from Kerzner
International, hosted Scott Fitzgerald, a squash pro from Florida, who
held the number one rank as Junior Champion in his native country Wales
for a few years, subsequently working his way up to number sixty in
the adult world. Scott was invited to the Bahamas to train select
junior players and provide them with new techniques and skills to
improve
their games. Juniors selected for the training will be representing
the Bahamas at Junior CASA, which will be held in the Caymans from July
10 -15. The event will bring together many junior players from
across the Caribbean including countries such as Barbados, Jamaica,
St. Vincent, Belize, Venezuela and Bermuda, to name a few.
The Team
representing
the Bahamas in Junior CASA consist of Van Rolle, the only Junior from
Freeport, Grand Bahamas, along with Dylan Davies, Michael Thompson,
Domonic MacDonald and Donovan MacDonald for the boys and Danielle
Fields,
Christina Fields and Ashley Fox for the girls. This will be the
last opportunity for Van, Dylan and Danielle to compete in Junior CASA
as the age categories stop at Under 19. Their coaches for the past six
weeks, Jimmy Lightbourn and Barbara Albury, are pleased at how well
the Juniors have developed and wish them every success along with the
BSA.
