Bahamas men's 4 x 400 take Silver in Australia

AUSTRALIA - In Saturday's finals for the men's 4 x 400 metre at the Gold Coast XXI Commonwealth Games, Bahamas took silver with an SB of 3:01.92, just behind gold medalists, Botswana with with 3:01.78. Jamaica came third with 3:01.97. Congrats to Ramon Miller, Michael Mathieu, Alozo Russell and Ojay Ferguson! (results page)
On Friday, the team thought they had lost their chance to advance to the finals, but then Australia was disqualified because one of their team took up the wrong position for the final baton
change. This moved The Bahamas into 3rd place.
On Friday, the team finished fourth with a time of 3:04.62 seconds. Australia initially came first with 3:04.22 SB, India second with 3:04.05, and Jamaica third with 3:03.97.

Also on Saturday, the women's 4 x 100m relay team did not start in the line up against Trinidad and Tobago, Nigeria, England, Cameroon, Ghana, Austraia, and Jamaica. Results were: England 42.46, Jamaica 42.52, and Nigeria with 42.75.
Other Commonwealth Games highlights: Shaunae Miller-Uibo claimed gold in the women's 400m, Jeffery Gibson claimed silver in the men's 400m hurdles and Jamal Wilson took silver in the men's high jump.
