Steven Gardiner came in first at the Stockholm Diamond League on Father's Day with a time of 44.58 seconds in the 400 metres beating Baboloki Thebe of Boswana, who was just behind with 44.99. Finishing third was Kevin Borlee of Belgium.

Gardiner was the only Bahamian at the event. He will be home in Nassau this weekend for the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations' Aliv National Open Championship.

His national record time is 44.26.
