Grand Bahama Island - It is that time of year again... Time to get back into sport, and GIRLS why not get into the world's largest sport, SOCCER!

The G.B. Developmental Soccer League, now in its ninth year, begins Saturday, September 26th and caters to girls ages 5 - 16 years.  Have fun every Saturday afternoon from  2:00 - 4:00pm at the Freeport Football Rugby Club.

Coaches are needed. Please come out to support!

Girls learn skill development, rules of play, sportsmanship, and mostly they have lots of FUN in a supportive environment!  Many of the girls from this program go on to an older league, and some even go on to realize college scholarships.

Founded by Donnie and Mary Knowles, and supported by many dedicated senior and junior soccer coaches. The League also boasts strong parent involvement with parents assisting with coaching in the younger Curly Tail Division (ages 6 – 9), which encourages family involvement and child/parent bonding.

Soccer Mini-Stars group for 5 yr olds for Kindergarten and Grade 1. Fifteen is the maximum number so register your child early. This group runs from 2:00 - 3:30pm because of the short attention span of the age group. Parents are welcome to bring their sneakers and join in the fun with this age group.

Registration is now underway. Click to download the Registration Form attached below at the base of this article,  print, complete and drop by Town & Country on Yellow Pine St. OR arrive with it on Opening Day (October 4th), along with your registration fee of $20.00. Your child will also recieve a team t-shirt.

BOOT SWAP - Parents if your girl/s have outgrown soccer boots that don't fit, please bring them along and swap or donate them to someone, or sell them for $5.00.

Playtime Sports has once again graciously offered their 15% Discount on soccer items for mention of any of the soccer leagues on Grand Bahama.  Thank you Playtime Sports!

A Note from the league Founder, Donnie Knowles:

The success of our league could not be possible without our Sponsors each year! THANK YOU!

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to call Mary or I at Town & Country (242-352-3641) or at home in the evening after 8pm (373-8705).
