Nassau, Bahamas -
Mark is pleased to announce the exciting news that
Andy Murray has booked his flights from the U.K. to come to take part
in the Exhibition on Saturday 4th December at the National
Tennis Centre. Mark and the event organizers have their fingers
crossed that the snowstorms, which have blanketed Scotland and the U.K.
in the last few days, ease up and air travel operates on schedule for
Andy.
Andy said yesterday that he can’t wait
to escape the sub zero temperatures and land in the sunny Bahamas.
Andy is fresh off a stellar performance
at the World Singles Champions Masters Cup in London last week where
he reached the semi-finals and lost a classic match to Rafael Nadal
in the 3rd set tiebreaker.
Andy is currently the #4 ranked player
in the world; 2009 and 2010 Wimbledon semi-finalist; 2010 Finalist
at the Australian Open; 2010 ATP Masters Champion in both Shanghai and
Canada. He has career wins over Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and
Andy Roddick and has won 16 singles titles.
Andy was born in Dunblane, Scotland on
15th May 1987 and is the #1 ranked player in Great Britain.
His mother, Judy, is a tennis coach and father, William, is a Retail
Area Manager. He started playing tennis at 3 years of age and
was a very promising soccer player before he chose to play tennis fulltime.
At 15 years of age he based himself in Barcelona and trained alongside
his Spanish peers. His talent for the game is tremendous and his
fitness is on a par with that of the Spanish hero, Nadal, and the Swiss
genius, Federer. Most tennis experts predict that Andy will win
many more tournament titles, including the Wimbledon Championships as
the first Briton since Fred Perry won it for the third time in 1936.
Mark says “Andy is only 23 years old and already has been ranked
as high as #2 in the world. He has the game to go right to the top and
he will.”
