Nassau, Bahamas - The Junior Baseball League of Nassau will open the 2016 Season this coming week – the 27th. Season of Youth Baseball and Soft Ball.
The League announces that Twenty Eight (28) Baseball and Five (5) Girls Soft Ball teams comprising 434 Boys and Girls will be competing in the 2016 Season which will run from January to May 2016.
JBLN will celebrate the Opening of the 2016 Season at 10:00 am on Saturday January 16 with a parade of all 33 teams competing.
Dignitaries expected to attend include The Minister of Sports Dr. Danny Johnson,The representative for Yamacraw Hon. Melanie Griffin,Presidents of the Bahamas Baseball Federation,The Bahamas Soft Ball Federation,The Bahamas Olympic Committee and Representatives from the U.S.Embassay and Corporate League Sponsors.
The end of ceremonies will be highlighted by a Junkanoo Rush Out by the Builders Mall Genesis WarHawks winners of the B Category in the New Year’s Junkanoo competition.
Games in Week # 1 will start immediately after the Opening Ceremonies.
