Bahamian Joanna Evans of Grand Bahama won the first gold for Team Bahamas at the 23rd Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.
In the 400 m freestyle Evans clocked a time of 4:11.15, setting a new meet record.
This was The Bahamas first medal of the event, and a games' record breaking performance.
