NASSAU – The UB Mingoes men’s basketball team will hold open tryouts 8am Saturday March 2, 2019 at The Kendal Issacs Gymnasium.

Coaches and administrators will be evaluating players as the team loses two starters to graduation at the end of this season.

Men’s basketball head coach Bacchus Rolle said the two graduating seniors have played big roles on the team and he’s looking to replace them in the system.

“We lose Ramon Dames and Justin Smith who have both been a strong presence on the court at the guard position,” he said.  “We are looking at big men as well to help our presence in the paint as well.”

Rolle added that he’s looking for quality talent who is also able to adapt to playing in an organized program.

“We have a great program here at UB with basketball and we want quality players who can come in and be a part of the team chemistry that we are trying to build here,” he said.  “We want players who can be role players when then need to be role players and leaders when they need to be leaders.  In short we look for players who are willing to be a part of a team.”
