NFL Greats Joining the Teams for the $250,000 Hall of Fame Celebrity Billfish Invitational

11 Hall of Famers and 6 NFL Legends Scheduled to Appear‹As of Press Time

BIMINI, THE BAHAMAS - The super bowl of billfishing is fielding a stellar squad of NFL Hall of Famers and Legends for a one-of-kind tournament that matches the country¹s best anglers and greats from the National Football League for some hard-hitting blue water action off this tiny Bahamian out-island.

The Tournament Committee today released the names of those former stars scheduled to participate in the tournament, which will be based at the historic Bimini Big Game Club Resort & Marina in Alice Town.

Those players* are:

Rod Woodson (Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens and Oakland Raiders) Safety/Cornerback. Eleven Pro Bowl and six First Teal All Pro selections.  NFL Hall of Fame Class of  2009.

John Randle (Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks) Defensive Tackle. Seven Pro Bowl and six First Team All Pro selections.  NFL Hall of Fame Class of 2010.

John Hannah (New England Patriots) Guard.  Nine Pro Bowl and 10 First Team All Pro selections.  NFL Hall of Fame Class of 1991.

Mark May (Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers and Phoenix Cardinals) Offensive Tackle.  Pro Bowl (1988) Super Bowl Champion (XVII and XXII).

Jim McMahon (Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers) Quarterback.  Pro Bowl (1985) and Super Bowl Champion (XX, XXXI)

Dwight Stephenson (Miami Dolphins) Center. Five Pro Bowl and five First Teal All Pro selections.  NFL Hall of Fame Class of 1998.

George Rogers  (New Orleans Saints and Washington Redskins) Running Back. Heisman Trophy (1980) Pro Bowl (1981/82)

Bernie Kosar (Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins)Quarterback. Pro Bowl (1987) Super Bowl champion (XXVIII)

Paul Krause (Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings.) Safety.  Eight  Pro Bowl and eight All Pro selections. NFL Hall of Fame Class of 1998.

Jack Youngblood (Los Angeles Rams) Defensive End.  Eleven Pro Bowl and six First Team All Pro selections.  NFL Hall of Fame Class of 2001.

Mike Haynes (New England Patriots and Los Angeles Raiders). Cornerback. NinePro Bowls and Super Bowl Champion XVIII.  NFL Hall of Fame Class of 1997.

Dermontti Dawson (Pittsburgh Steelers). Center.  Seven Pro Bowl and Six All Pro selections.  NFL Hall of Fame Class of 2012.

Joe DeLamielleure (Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns) Guard. Six Pro Bowl and six All Pro selections.  NFL Hall of Fame Class of 2003.

Tom Mack (Los Angeles Rams) Offensive Guard.  Eleven Pro Bowl and four First Team All Pro selections. NFL Hall of Fame Class of 1999.

Willie Roaf (New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs) Offensive Tackle. Eleven Pro Bowl and six First Team All Pro selections.  NFL Hall of Fame Class of 2012.

Dave Butz  (St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Redskins) Defensive Lineman. Pro Bowl and First Team All Pro (1983) Super Bowl champion (XVII and XXII)

Louis Lipps (Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints) Wide Receiver/Return Specialist. Pro Bowl and First Team All Pro selection (1984/85).

The catch and release only tournament, which will adhere to IGFA Tournament rules, will target all billfish species, including Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Spearfish and Swordfish. Awards will be presented in the overall angler and team categories and additional awards will be given to the high point boat each day.

Competition is open for up to four registered anglers per boat‹just 22 boats total. At stake is a shot at over $250,000 in prizes, a tremendous gift bag per angler, and the opportunity to fish with a Pro Football Hall of Fame Player or NFL Legend.
