New Providence Body Building and Fitness Expo announced for June 16th

Nassau, Bahamas - The New Providence Body Building and Fitness Association will be hosting, it's first ever Classic on June, 16th 2012 8:30pm at the Rain Forest Theater Cable Beach. Tickets are priced at $25, dress code is smart casual, and the event is in aid of the National Team members travel to Puerto Rico in October for the CAC Championships, where they will be trying to better their 2nd place finish in 2011.

The Classic will be honoring and paying tribute to some of the veteran body builders and fitness athletes who've won the National titles in previous years, and have represented the country and won medals at the CAC level or higher.

Some of the names being honored are Della Thomas, former middleweight, lightweight and heavyweight champion as well as CAC medalist. Maxine Darville who dominated the heavyweight division for many many years. Michelle Green, who also competed at the lightweight level, won goal medal in the CAC at the same division as well as in the mix pairs division. Jena Mackey the 1st and only Bahamian Professional female body builder who received her pro card back in 2007 in Hamilton Bermuda rounds out the honorees, of female body builder.

On the male side of the honors, Brock Bridgewater who hails from the nation's second city Freeport Grand Bahama, will be our first honoree. Brock has won titles in the welterweight division at the CAC games, and also a former Mr. Bahamas title winner. Next up is the fabulous Aaron Green who dominated the light heavyweight division and heavyweight division at the Nationals, and gold medal winner at CAC level. He also teamed up many years to bring home the gold in the mixed pairs division with his partner Michelle. And rounding out the male honorees is none other than the Bahamas 2nd Professional male body builder Mr. Joel Stubbs. Joel turned pro in 2003 right here in Nassau Bahamas when the CAC championships were hosted here. He's has since went on to compete at the professional level, including Mr. Olympia, the biggest stage where body builders are recognized.

Natasha Brown is the 2nd Bahamian out of 5 Bahamians to obtain a professional card, and she did it in Venezuela back in 2002, in the women's fitness division. She is our final honoree for her accomplishment in the sport.

Part 2 of the event is the body building and fitness competition for NOVICE, and also for the season competitors. There will be the Open Bikini division for women. The men's Physique division will also be contested. The will be a Figure division for women, and body building for men: heavyweight, light middleweight, middleweight and lightweight, and for women heavyweight and lightweight.

Tickets for the event will be available at Better Bodies Fitness, BodyZone Fitness, Club One, Iron Man Fitness, FantaZ Fitness, and Mystical Fitness as well as from Charles Johnson GFIT Boot Camp, and Ultimate Fitness.
