As a precursor event to build anticipation (and involve the youth) for the upcoming Grand Bahama Regatta 2008, the Grand Bahama Sailing Club participated in Opti Races at Old Bahama Bay in West End.
Fourteen (14) Opti boats were on hand along with eighteen (18) children from the sailing club. The club will also be participating in the GBI Regatta from June 19 - 22nd.
The Grand Bahama Sailing club started last year in 2007. The Club will be presenting their second annual summer sailing camps for residents of Grand Bahama Island over the summer. T
he main focus of their club is to get kids sailing from every background and they are looking for sponsers to help us get `needy` kids through the camp. A $300 donation gets a kid through one 2-week sailing course. The aim this year is to get AT LEAST 15 sponsored kids through. Anyone wishing to help them reach this goal can contact either Chris Paine at 242-352 2450 or Sarah Rolle at 373 9603.
