The athletes are getting set to play in The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA's) Giorgio Baldacci Open Tournament.  The late Giorgio Baldacci was a tennis coach who gave unselfishly to the sport in The Bahamas. He contributed to the growth and development of some of our tennis players and the Bahamas Annual Open Tennis Nationals is named in his honor.

The tournament will be held at The National Tennis Centre(NTC) from December 17th -22nd  2018. It is open to all and will feature some of the best in Bahamian Tennis.  Players registration will be held Sunday at 3:00pm at The NTC. This will be followed by Players "Meet and Greet."

A diverse draw ranging from juniors to pro circuit players is expected. From this pool of talented players, the country will name its prestigious 2019 Davis Cup and Fed Cup Teams. The Bahamas saw much success in 2018 with these teams making it to the finals appearance(Fed Cup) and earning Zone promotion(Davis Cup).  The Davis Cup also received the distinction of being named by the Ministry of Youth Sports and
Culture "Team of the Year"and its captain Coach Marvin Rolle named "Coach of the Year."

The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association invites you to come on down to the NTC (free admission) and  enjoy some high level and skilled tennistalent.  We expect some great competition as the players continue to improve themselves and develop each year. The ferocious forehands, blazing backhands, sizzling serves and amazing athleticism will be on display.
