Tennis has kicked off at the 2018 CAC Games in Baranquilla, Colombia. Here we go Bahamas!
The A Team for the men comprise: Spencer Newman, Baker Newman, Kevin Major and Philip Major. The team is coached by Marvin Rolle.
Up first is our Men's #1 Spencer Newman who will be playing Alvarado from El Salvador followed by Baker Newman who will be competing against Maginley from Antigua & Barbuda. We will see the 'Major' duo(pun intended) of Kevin and Phillip Major as the tournament progresses.
Also, our Bahamian ladies coming off a great finalist performance at Fed Cup in Ecuador take to the tennis courts today in Baranquilla: Kerrie Cartwright , Danielle Thompson and Simone Pratt . The team is coached by Larikah Russell and fielded by the Bahamas Olympic Committee.
Kerrie who is our Women's #1 is seeded 7th in the tournament and received a first round bye. Danielle plays Stampfli (who she also faced in Fed Cup action last week) from Trinidad. Simone teams up with Danielle for ladies doubles later on in the tournament. Kerrie will also be teaming up with Philip Major for mixed doubles.
Bahamas let us cheer them on to victory!
