Three Bahamian Junior Tennis Players Shine Overseas

Nassau, Bahamas - A message from the Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association: Congratulations are extended to three (3) of our juniors who recently gave amazing performances overseas, namely Iesha Shepherd, Donte Armbrister and Jacobi Bain.

Iesha Shepherd recently emerged as USTA champion at Extreme Tennis Academy, Miami, Florida in the Girls' 18 and under - Level 6. Iesha advanced to the final and defeated Karly Friedland 6-0, 6-2.

Donte Armbrister also prevailed as the USTA champion at Next Level Tennis at K-Town, Miami, Florida - Level 7 in the Boys' 16 and under. Donte defeated the No. 1 in the tournament, Milan Bass, in the semifinals 6-0, 6-1 and also the No. 2 (Eugenio Alvarez) in the finals 6-3, 6-1.

Also excelling in junior tennis isJacobi Bain who,together with his partnerMichael Minasyan were finalists in Doubles in the Boys' 14 and underin Stockholm, Sweden where he participated in the Tennis Europe Category 1 Kungens Kanna & Drottningre Pris. Jacobi and partner lost 5-7, 3-6 to Pennington Jones and Joel Perleoni .
