Nassau, Bahamas –  The University of The Bahamas Mingoes women’s softball team allowed the Warriors to score 8 runs in the second inning as the defending NPSA champion Wildcats ended the game in 3 innings 15-0 Tuesday night at The Bankers Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.

The Mingoes allowed three runs in the opening inning but the Warriors bats coupled with several defensive errors in the third put the game too far out of reach.

Thela Jonson picked up the win through all three innings with 5 strikeouts, 0 walks and 1 hit.  Kevinique Stubbs got the loss through three innings as well with 1 strikeout, 3 walks and 8 hits.  She was responsible for the 15 runs as well.

"It was a total lack of defense from various players in the second inning," Head Coach Shane Albury said. "Players were playing in positions they don’t normally play but they still needed to know what to do with the ball.  Many players just weren’t aware of what was going on.  It was a lack of communication and a lack of defence.”

The Mingoes play The Striker 7pm Tuesday August 13 at The Bankers Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.
