Nassau, Bahamas - Marathon Bahamas took place over the weekend with the full marathon (26.2 miles), half marathon (13.1 miles), relay (4 persons/team) and Susan Komen Race for a Cure components. The marathon, now completing its third year was said to have generated 3000 room nights.
Overall winner of the full marathon was 33 year old Bryan Huberty of USA who finished with a net time of 2:42:53.

The full marathon started at 6:00am on January 15th with runners leaving Junkanoo Beach immediately west of downtown Nassau, heading east through downtown, over both Paradise Island bridges, through historic Nassau along the shoreline to the western end of the island, then looping around to end at world famous Arawak Cay.
Marathon Bahamas is a Bahamas Amateur Athletic Association (BAAA) sanctioned event, and is a Boston Qualifier. The race course was designed to showcase many of the historical buildings and areas, highlight the splendor of Paradise Island, the Colonial-style buildings and transverse along the ocean to a dramatic ocean front finish line.
