On January 21st, 1996, shortly before his retirement, the late Rusty Bethel, born May 29th, 1913 recorded this stimulating interview with Dave Mackey. He discusses the history of broadcasting in The Bahamas before and after his co-founding of Radio Bahamas (ZNS), and shares his fond memories of the Carron & Dupuch families during his years with The Tribune Newspaper, and much more. Bahamas lawmaker apologizes for Travolta mistrial

Associate Press - NASSAU, Bahamas — The Bahamas lawmaker who prompted a mistrial in the John Travolta extortion case has publicly apologized to the judge and the people of the island chain.

Picewell Forbes says his announcement of an acquittal while the jury was still deliberating last week were "reckless" and "not true."

But he isn't saying where he heard the report that he repeated in a televised speech at a political convention.

Forbes' attorney Anthony McKinney said Tuesday his client cannot comment further because the matter is still before the court..
