Grand Bahama Revisited 2003 was a historical, retrospective, temporary exhibit. It highlighted Grand Bahama Island’s rich and colorful past, from the by-gone era of The Lucayans, to the freed Africans, to the pioneers who transformed our Cinderella Island from miles of pine forest into established settlements and towns, thriving industries and tourist destination.

The interest of the people to learn about the island, resulted in the committee’s continuing efforts with research, interviews, explorations and presentations.

The Grand Bahama Heritage Foundation is duly registered (April 2008) as a foundation in accordance with the Foundations Act, 2004.

The goal of the foundation is to build The Heritage Museum and Gallery, A window into our past.

The Heritage, Museum and Gallery will provide an opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage of Grand Bahama island.

Artists and historians will be brought together to capture moments in our past through interactive programs, such as Artists in Residence, changing exhibits of local artifacts and film.

Included in the Gallery will be a boutique of original Bahamian products made exclusively for the Gallery, including wearable and fine art, jewelry and books.
We have embarked on a long journey which will require a lot of commitment and determination. We seek your support in building this lasting commemorating monument of this island.
