The Bahamas Weekly brings you another exclusive video interview with visiting BBC Radio Correspondent and author, Mr. Leslie Goffe. On a 'working' vacation to scout interesting and "Bahamian" content for the BBC Caribbean programme, Goffe told us that he found all he was looking for, as far as "who" he wanted to meet and interview, by going online to
www.TheBahamasWeekly.com
.
This interview was recorded at Mackeymedia, Freeport.
While vacationing in Grand Bahama Island, Goffe was able to meet with author, Marina Sarles; new recording artist, "Reddah"; Lisa Davies aka "Bonafide", and Ophie, of "Ophie and The Boys". Goffe was also reviewing and will be reporting on weddings in The Bahamas.
Mr. Goffe was well researched in the history of Grand Bahama Island from information found online, and enjoyed his time on the island where he says he likes the local interaction. Goffe went to University in Columbia and began his journalism career with the Guardian newspaper in the U.K. He is station in the U.S. east coast for his current position with the BBC.
Goffe is also an author. His love of research and history spawned a book called, "When Banana was King" about the history of the banana trade in Jamaica through the life experiences of one Jamaican family. He is currently writing his second book.
Information Goffe gathered and recorded in The Bahamas will be aired on the BBC Caribbean programme. Simply go to www.bbc.co.uk/caribbean and in the left column there are listening options.
