Bahamavention wins Best Branding of an International Destination

The Association for Travel Marketing Executives held their annual Travel Marketing Conference on June 6th and 7th at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas. Marva Monroe, sales and marketing director for Pelican Bay Hotel of Lucaya was on hand to receive the award (on behalf of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism) for Best Branding of an International Destination for the ingenious marketing scheme called, Bahamavention.

The two-day event brought together marketing professionals from various travel organizations, featured top speakers from Forrester Research, Southwest Airlines, Canyon Ranch and Groople, amongst others.  The theme of the conference was "Meet the New Boss."

The Atlas Awards Banquet, sponsored by Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and Discover Network,  recognized destination leaders in tourism.  The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism captured the award as the international destination with the most innovative advertising campaign -- Bahamavention.
