Grand Bahama Island -  Enclosed are remarks made by the Chairman of the Port Group Limited, Mr. Hannes Babak's  at the official opening ceremony and ribbon cutting of the Ross University Bahamas academic facilities on Friday, February 20, 2009. Mr. Babak provides information on how Ross University chose Grand Bahama Island for their new campus and how he was directly involved in such. Mr. Babak is introduced to the podium by Dr. Mary Colemen, Dean of the Ross University School of Medicine and Mistress of Ceremonies for the event.
Also in this video are remarks made by the Prime Minister to The Bahamas, the Rt. Hon. Hubert A. Ingraham. The Prime Minister is introduced by Senator Kay Forbes-Smith. The Prime Minister speaks on the positive affect of the presence of Ross University and encourages his people to put forth their best to accommodate such a reputable educational institution.
Also in this video is clips of the tours provided to the Prime Minister and his wife, as well as other guests. Part of the tour features the high-tech Simulation Centre where Ross students, under tutorial of Robert Moore, Director of the Simulation Centre give demonstrations of the use of the simulated patients.
The video ends with views of the reception held at the end of the ceremony and tour on the grounds of Seahorse Plaza in Freeport.
Ross University was founded in 1978 and is a provider of medical and veterinary education offering doctor of medicine and doctor of veterinary medicine degree programs. The School of Medicine is located in Dominica, West Indies, and the Freeport, Grand Bahama campus recently opened in January 2009. The School of Veterinary Medicine is located in St. Kitts. Ross University's administrative offices are located in North Brunswick, NJ.  Ross University has more than 9,000 alumni with M.D. and D.V.M. degrees. http://www.rossu.edu/
