VANCOUVER, Canada - Landing her first principal role, Bahamian actress, Lindsay Braynen (seen in image right), was seen on Untold Stories of the E.R. premiering on Discovery Life on New Year's Day, and airing in early January on TLC. The fast-paced medical series blends re-enactments of real emergency room cases. 26 year old Braynen, plays Zoe on Season 10 in the segment, 'Family Matters' in the episode 'Shocking!' If you missed the earlier dates, it's yet to be aired on January 12th at 9pm on DISCLIFE; Wednesday, January 13th at midnight on DISCLIFE; Saturday, January 16th at 8pm on TLC and Sunday, January 17th at 1 am on TLC. "I play Zoe, a nurse alongside featured medical practitioner and 'storyteller' RN Richard Ramsey, who has to rush her fiance' Tyler to the hospital for what she thinks is another of his 'usual' pneumothorax issues, but of course it's not as simple as that," Braynen who was born in Nassau, moved to Canada to study at the Emily Carr University of Art & Design, and has also been modeling and dancing. The E.R. episode follows Richard as he and Zoe try to figure out Tyler's increasingly erratic symptoms, as well as deal with Zoe's constantly butting heads with the no-nonsense Dr Brown. Braynen is signed with Maijah Lewk Talent Agency (Vancouver), who specialize in representing minority actors in Film/TV and auditioned in June 2015. "The audition is a bit of a funny story, as I had developed laryngitis from performing in Northern BC a week prior to the audition, so carried a bottle of honey with me to soothe my throat enough to talk through the audition, as the test script was several pages long," said Braynen who also brought her phone into the audition room with the test script downloaded, because she said she had no time to memorize the lines given. "I honestly didn't think I was going to land the part because of how unorthodox everything was. My agent Dean and I had a good laugh when he called to tell me I had booked the role." Filming took place in August in Vancouver. "My co-stars were incredible to work... They were easy to chat with if I was ever concerned about how to proceed with the next line or scene. If I was nervous before we began filming, I definitely wasn't by the time we started our first scene." Braynen went on to say that she shared a special moment on New Year's Day when she Skyped from Canada, to her parents in The Bahamas, and they all watched the premiere together. So what's next for the young actress? Well she's heading back to The Bahamas. "I'm now setting my sights on home. I've learned quite a lot about myself, especially as a performer, while living in Canada for the past 6 years. I am excited to finally have the chance to take all that I've experienced and bring it back to The Bahamas. I hope to make some meaningful contributions to the Performing Arts community, help the industry grow and evolve, and maybe even broaden some horizons in the process."
