Filmmakers screening at the Fort Lauderdale International
Film Festival will be arriving in Grand Bahama for FLIFF On Location
Take 2 on Thursday, October 25th and among them will be Academy Award
winning director, Stefan Ruzowitzky who
will screen his latest thriller,
Deadfall starring
Eric Bana, Olivia Wilde, Sissy Spacek, Kris Kristofferson, Treat Williams, Charlie Hunnam, Kate Mara.
About
Deadfall:
Winter.
Somewhere near the Canadian border on the U.S. side. A pair of robbers
are on the run with bags of cash from a freshly held up casino. With the
heat gettin' hotter, the pair split up in the frozen landscape. Not so
far away, we meet Jay, a boxer who just finished doing time in the state
pen and decides to head home to Ma 'n Pa for tomorrow's Thanksgiving.
Pa is the retired sheriff and their homestead is quite a trek from
civilization out in the snow covered country.
Austrian-born Ruzowitzky directed his first feature film, Tempo, in
1996. He has also directed
The Inheritors, Anatomy, All the Queen's Men,
Anatomy 2, Lilly the Witch, and
The Counterfeiters, which won the Oscar
for best foreign-language film.

Also set to attend this year is film director Lucy Mulloy who is
the daughter of acclaimed animator Phil Mulloy. Her film
Uno
Noche
has been nominated for a Student Academy Award. It won the Spike Lee Production Grant, Hollywood Foreign Press
Association Grant, TFI Creative Promise Emerging Narrative Award, and
more.
She is currently developing
Una Noche Más.
Uno Noche will screen October 26, at 7:45pm at the Canal House.
American film director, screenwriter and editor, Daniel Schechter
will be attending with
his film
Supporting Characters which debuted at the Tribeca Film
Festival and has gone on to win critical acclaim and several grand jury
prizes for best narrative film.
He is presently working on his next film called
The Untitled Elmore
Leonard Project (based on the Elmore Leonard novel, The Switch) and will
star Jennifer Aniston, Dennis Quaid, John Hawkes, Ty Burrell and Yasiin
Bey.
Supporting Characters will screen October 27, at 7:00pm at the Canal House.

FLIFF Take 2 takes place from October 25 to 28th at the Canal House at Pelican Bay Hotel with free outdoor screenings of the family animated film,
Sammy 2: Escape from Paradise at the opening ceremony at Taino Beach on Thursday, October 25th at 7pm, and a second screening of Sammy 2 at Port Lucaya Marketplace on Friday evening.
Aspiring filmmakers can take in the filmmakers workshop, Stories That Matter with Ian Strachan, director of the Bahamian TV series, Gippie's Kingdom on Saturday, October 27th at 10:30am at the Canal House.
Meet Giancarlo Esposito as he receives his Career Achievement Award on Saturday, October 27th at 8:45 pm at the Canal House.

at the Canal House, Pelican Bay Hotel, ‘FLIFF On Location: Grand Bahama
Island will feature international and local films, outdoor screenings
of Sammy 2: , presentation of a Career Achievement Award to Giancarlo
Esposito, filmmakers workshop, "Stories That Matter" with Ian Strachan;
location scouting for international filmmakers, and a wrap party /
awards presentation at the Grand Lucayan Resort.
There are three categories of tickets now on sale at reception
center of Pelican Bay Hotel and at the office of the Ministry of
Tourism. Our passes are reasonably priced with a Day Pass, giving one
all movies, all that day for $7.00; a Fast Pass, giving you all movies,
all weekend for $10.00; and the All Access Pass, which gives entrance to
VIP functions, the workshop and all movies for $50.00.
