AML Foods Limited Raises $11,000 to help eradicate hunger

Nassau, Bahamas - AML Foods Limited announced today that they were successful in raising $11,000 for Hands for Hunger in New Providence and The Grand Bahama Red Cross’ Meals on Wheels Program.

In recognition of World Hunger Day, throughout the month of May, shoppers at Cost Right Nassau, Solomon’s Super Centre, Solomon’s Fresh Market Old Fort Bay, Solomon’s Fresh Market Harbour Bay, Solomon’s Lucaya, Solomon’s Queens Highway, and Cost Right Freeport had the opportunity to add a donation to their shopping bill to help eradicate hunger in The Bahamas.

Abigail Asgaralli, Executive Director, Hands For Hunger said, “We are so grateful for the continued support of the AML Foods Limited Brands and their customers, for the Add-A- Donation campaign. As you may know, Hands for Hunger is committed to eliminatingunnecessaryhungerand food waste throughout New Providence.Our organization is a registered not-for-profit charity led by a volunteer Board of Directors, a small staff of four, and is fueled by the efforts of over 600 dedicated volunteers. We depend on corporate partners like AML Foods, to perform our mission”.

Ms. Asgaralli explained that the money raised will allow them to better serve the thirteen recipient agencies for which they provide emergency food assistance. “One hundred percent of the donations will directly benefit the charity’s effort to eliminate unnecessary hunger and food insecurity through its food rescue program, educational publications and research initiatives”, she says.

Mrs. Mary Culmer, Director of The Grand Bahama Red Cross said, “Our Meals-on- Wheels program is always in need of assistance for its survival and we continue to rely on the generosity of the community to assist us in our efforts to feed the hungry. We are pleased to partner with AML Foods in this wonderful imitative and we salute them for their continued support of charities such as the Red Cross. They are truly their brother’s keeper”.
